The 2012 Emmy Award Show always makes for great fashion television, especially the pre-show where you see stars in gorgeous gowns make their way down the red carpet. Telly and I thought it would be cool to post a video of our EMMY wardrobe chat to share with you. We loved outfits from Zooey, Sofia and more, so check out the video to hear our thoughts and let us know what YOU thought of the EMMYS red carpet styles!
Sure the Oscars and theGolden Globes present some lovely fashionable black tie red carpet looks, but you can never predict what you’ll see at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art red carpet! This year the exhibit titled, Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations celebrated the work of Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada. MET gave the world a chance to see the fashion LIVE, broadcasting the red carpet events on Vogue.com! Without further hesitation, check out our favorite looks from MET Red Carpet.
Loved this look on January Jones at the MET Gala 2012 last night.
Gisele Bundchen showed some leg in Givenchy!
Love Solange in color! Gown By Rachel Roy. Its simple, but elegant look for Fashion’s It Girl.
Loved this look by Versace on January Jones at the MET Gala 2012 last night.
Carey Mulligan in Prada! She brought the light with her! She was literally glowing.
Rihanna walked the MET Gala Red carpet in slick black by Tom Ford!
Gwenyth Paltrow in Prada! Fresh and sexy look!
Lea Michele looked amazing a Diane von Furstenberg gown! The color was perfect on her!
For some reason we love Sofia in this dress. The details are hard to ignore. Dress by Marchesa.
Rooney went to that dark place in black lace. We like the gothic look on here. Dress by Givenchy
Jessica Alba went for Classic Hollywood Glamor in a gold Michael Kors gown.
Singer, Lana Del Ray made her MET Gala debut in Joseph Altuzarra.
Karolina Kurkova reminded us of Grace Jones in her gown by Rachel Zoe. One of our favorite looks of the night!
Jessica Biel hit the red carpet in this conservative, but sexy mid-length dress.
If you wore black, you might have disappointed us. The red carpet was full of color and sparkles! What a great change! This red carpet got us excited about the colors to come for Spring. Take a look at our 2012 Golden Globe gown favorites!
Jessica Alba went with somewhat of a “safe” number, but it worked! Lilac pastels are a usual favorite for the actress so she took on that look with some embellishments and a clean up do’.
Angelina Jolie didn’t wear black! Her Atelier Versace dress was so well fitted and tailored. Her make up was spot on to the point wear she almost looked unreal, like a doll. We are fans of her up do’, just because she’s worn her long hair down to so many events recently. People didn’t enjoy Brad Pitt’s longer hair, but every year one guy attending will have long hair and a beard.
Emma Stoneis back! She was all casual at the People’s Choice awards last week, but she pulled out this edgy Lanvin and a side sweep up do’. Love the use of sheer fabrics here.
Natalie Portman! At first we weren’t sure of the Lanvin gown, but after some more views, we like. The color is fab and her hair and make up just make this dress work.
Okay, we have Nicole Kidman who we consider a red carpet veteran. We love the dress itself, but the styling could improve. She seems a bit to pale and washed out against the light color dress and her hair needed more vibrancy in color. If you’re a redhead, be a redhead.
Selma Hayek in Gucci! She just looks amazing! Enough said here.
Mary J. Blige took to the carpet in a feather fish tail. We love the color and the smoothness in the fit.
Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli. She stands out in this blush gown covered in sparkle embellishments. We are fans of her accessories. He hair do’ was also voted as a favorite, an up do of loose curls pinned mid way in the back.
We enjoyed the back of Claire DanesJ Mendel dress.
Ariel Winter looks adorable in this purple number. Such a great look from head to toe.
Octavia Spencer choose the right gown here! The color was just lovely on her, the jewels tie the look together perfectly and her hair do just brings it all together.
Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang. Va-va-voom! We have always enjoyed a girl that works with her curves and Sofia is a pro at it. She was wise going with bone-straight hair to the side here. This gives way for the amazing fish tail at the bottom.
Elle Macpherson is probably one of the few women who could pull this Zac Posen gown. Being tall and slender is a prerequisite for this lovely red carpet delight.
